The Old Deanery

The Old Deanery is a beautiful venue situated directly opposite Ripon Cathedral. My wife and I just had our wedding reception here, and we couldn't be happier with our experience. Our hosts were friendly, professional and courteous right from the get go. On the day, there wasn't a single hiccup from the moment our guests arrived until everyone had left. Welcome drinks, canapés, a wedding breakfast, a wedding toast and snacks were provided for 64 people. Without exception, the food was delicious, well-presented and tailored to our needs and those of our guests, who included vegans, coeliacs and some who were just plain fussy. We were given a wide variety of menu choices, with a lot of innovation and thought going into to all of the dishes. Even the bartender was an absolute legend. We also had the pleasure of staying the night in one of the venue's luxurious rooms, which was right out of a period drama. At breakfast, we were greeted like old friends. All of the above was provided at what I would consider to be a reasonable cost. We are deeply grateful to Rebecca, David, Chris and the team for making our big day special. I cannot recommend it enough.

11 of us stayed here at the weekend after a busy day at an activity centre in Bedale and also for a special occasion. We could not have asked for nicer food, staff or a beautiful environment for a great price! We had our own room to eat in and to congregate together. Breakfast was also fabulous, catering brilliantly for 2 coeliac in our group. Thank you to all for making it a fantastic occasion.
