Went for some dinner this evening and asked if they did gluten free pizza, they said yes and explained that there was still risk of cross contamination. I’m gluten intolerant and not allergic or coeliac so I was ok with that. What they didn’t tell me is that they charge £2.50 extra for a gluten free base. I haven’t had to pay extra for this anywhere else, but what annoyed me was the fact I wasn’t told this until the bill came. Also, one of the toppings on my pizza tasted very strongly of aniseed which is an awful flavour. I picked it off and the rest was lovely. I think when you are adding flavours like aniseed to an item it should be stated on the menu as it’s a very strong flavour that many people do not like.

My partner and I had selected this restaurant because of Gluten Free reviews. Service and setting were lovely (music was great and the place was welcoming and lively). Unfortunately, her pizza used pre-made dough and was overcooked, which really put a damper on her enthusiasm. Mine (not gluten-free) was delicious and I wholeheartedly recommend the non gluten-free options, but if you are celiac, there likely are better options for you in Bath.
