We were really excited to come here for a Sunday roast but left quite disappointed by how they do intolerances and dietary differences.
On the menu, lots of things are marked as having a gluten free or dairy free option. As we had one vegan and one person who can’t eat dairy or gluten we made use of these options.
Then when the food come, they had just removed any items with dairy or gluten with no alternative. For the roast beef this options was just potatoes, beef and gravy. They don’t both cooking up some veg without butter for dairy free they just remove them and remove the Yorkshire pudding. For the vegan, when the food came they said “oh actually to make it vegan it would just be some veg”. We weren’t told any of these things when we ordered and it just felt quite lazy as it’s not hard to do some veg cooked without butter.
In the end we both had to break out intolerances to eat properly.
They shouldn’t have options on the menu which they don’t actually cater to.
We wouldn’t be rushing back but at least the beef was nice quality.
