I was excited to come to this place after going past many times but the reality was very disappointing. I won't go back. Can't recommend this place if anyone in your group has dietary preferences or allergies.
When I got there I noticed the waiter seemed to be in a bad mood, not bothering with any niceties. Even bumped me on the back of the head at one point while I was seated at the communal table.
What I didnt' expect was that my order would go so badly. Anyway I ordered GF toast with eggs and the waiter confirmed it.
Now, part of the problem is gluten free bread has come so far these days! If they bring you some bread that *doesn't* taste like cardboard you just assume they have a great supplier! Teh waiter banged my plate down and stamped off. I started eating.
But what was brought, well after I'd eaten about half the slice I realised it couldn't be gluten free.
They apologised and took it off the bill, which was the right thing to do. I'm only fodmap free not gluten free so for me the problem is probably just a day or two of fatigue and digstive upset not a big autoimmune problem. But for other people it could cause real health problems.
There's got to be some leeway for cafes to make mistakes with orders but when it comes to gluten free items and allergies I think that leeway is very small.
Upsides: decor is nice, coffee was decent, eggs were actually cooked beautifully.
