The Primrose

I posted about our 1st night's dinner under my other profile, the 2nd dinner needed a dedicated, separate review because it was PHENOMENAL! Dominque the resident Vegan server who had introduced herself to us the night before, seated us in her section this night :) We were overjoyed! She is upbeat, warm, friendly, caring AND an excellent, intuitive server! I, based on last night's dinner, was eager to order something similar to my partner's meal; but Dominque explained that the chef had a cauliflower curry in mind for us, all made special and off menu to accomodate my Vegan, gluten, soy, nut, tomato, olive and corn free diet. I was set on my original request and the kitchen happily accommodated! My partner got the fully loaded lentil burger with pickles on the side, and mine a modified squash risotto with sauteed veggies. Our starters were the same as the first night as they were sooo good! As we were finishing up our mains, Dominique came out beaming holding two magnificent dinner plates - she said the chef really wanted us to try the curry!!! WOW! BLOWN AWAY! How thoughtful, next level kind of service this was! The curry was very asian fusion, light gravy, simple flavours, just delicious! Our dessert was the amazing chocolate mousse that is made daily, but off menu. Be sure to ask for it alongside the incredible coffee's and latte's! BRAVO PRIMROSE, BRAVO! You have made memories for us that will last our lifetime :)))

We had an absolutely fabulous dining experience. The staff were extremely attentive and engaging without being overbearing. The food was excellent. My partner has a gluten issue and they made her the rosemary parm fries fresh without any contamination. The oysters were divine and the vinegar based sauce was excellent. I personally found the maple old fashioned too sweet and the staff were kind enough to try and make it more palatable but unfortunately it didn't suit my tastes but they were extremely accommodating and allowed me to get a classic old fashioned and didn't charge me for the maple. For mains we had the chicken and the lamb. The lamb was melt in your mouth good. Perfectly tender but still with substance and not too soft. The chicken was deliciously moist and the potatoes that accompanied it were phenomenal. You really can't beat the view of Mt Rundle so really nothing was missing.
