The Rice Cooker is jammed between student accommodation on one side, and hospitals and universities across the road, but delivers so much more than the usual cheap and cheerful Asian restaurant one might expect in such a surround.
The menu covers a lot of bases – there’s sushi, Malaysian Roti and Laksa, Hainanese Chicken, Thai beef salads and stir fries, and Chinese-style noodle soups.
A good range of beers, some mocktails, limited wine choices and some interesting Japanese soft drinks.
Prices were very reasonable, food was served quickly, the staff were lovely, and had no problems coping with requests for gluten-free dishes.
A great find.
