The Rock Hotel

l stayed at The Rock Hotel for the weekend. The hotel room and staff were lovely. Great sea views. However, l am ceolliac and eating gluten makes me ill. Some food that l was told was gluten free and that was noted as this on the menu, unfortunately wasn't. They do need to look at individual ingredients more closely.

Fabulous hotel with amazing views. Menus really good as is service at bar and restaurant. Rooms are well laid out, although we had a junior suite with a huge balcony with chairs table and sun loungers. Can get busy with weddings. Pool is across the road. Although we didn't come in contact with please be aware of the monkeys, who can come onto balconies and get into hotel. Downside is very uphill, hence fab views. Having said that walk downhill is okay, use the steps and slope rather than car slope, less steep. Taxi from/to town £6/7 and buses really good, on way from town stops outside hotel, by botanic gardens at £1.80 adult, although you can get a day traveller for around £6.50 a day... October 2023 prices. Cable car down hill from hotel. Botanic gardens opposite and lots of opportunities to do the complete Rock Tour with about 5 to six stop offs. Staff really good. Reception really helpful. Barry concierge knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble. Restaurant managers Abdellah and Natalija very helpful and knowledgeable. I have coeliac disease and felt safe with guidance and help from the kitchen. We got married whilst here, and we used Sweet Gibraltar Weddings.
