I absolutely love coming here to work. The employees are kind and charismatic, the facilities are clean, the music and the vibes are great. One MAJOR issue… If you have a gluten sensitivity (namely celiac disease) I’d consider skipping this place if you plan to order actual food! While they do offer gluten free options for pastries that they source from reliable, local GF bakeries, The Roosevelt themselves raise no caution when these pastries reach their care when it comes to cross contamination. As a celiac myself, it is just so disappointing to see. Their prepackaged pastries from Cherbourg are fine, but if you are interested in their new GF/vegan donut options, just forget it. They are almost always cross contaminated. They sit on the same plate as other vegan (but VERY GLUTEN) pastries. If they just moved them to a separate plate, or dedicated the top shelf to their GF options, everything would be fine. I really didn’t want to leave a negative review on this place, but I’ve raised this issue to several employees on separate occasions and no action is ever taken, so this is sort of a last ditch effort. It’s just horribly disappointing. I love this place, I just wish they took this specific issue more seriously. If I’m going to pay a fortune for a GF pastry, I want to eat it with the peace of mind that its safe for my consumption. Coffee & justice for all…but not for celiacs :(

They do somethings to coffee and milk that transcends a latte into this like caramelized-tasting heavingly drink. I should come more often but I don't live super close. Bonus excited because they carry Cherbourg Bakery items and as someone who recently went gluten free, it's difficult to find GF food in cafes. It is a cool venue, though all the hard surfaces and high ceilings mean it can be a bit noisy sometimes. Nothing headphones won't cure. Update: returned in April. Just had the seasonal cold brew lemonade and it's so effing good!
