Absolutely wonderful experience at the Royal Standard yesterday for Valentines lunch. We had a very warm welcome with excellent service from the team. A particular shout out goes to the barman with the hat (I think his name is Phil) who is a mine of interesting facts about the pub. The food was lovely with a very extensive menu of gluten free options. With 3 log fires roaring, the whole atmosphere was magical and made for a very romantic visit. I would highly recommend this wonderful pub/restaurant.

I only deducted a star off the food because my wife's gluten free gravy wasn't great, otherwise, it was excellent.
Service was slow but they were definitely working hard and it was very friendly and efficient when we go it, no complaints at all.
Over all we had a wonderful family lunch and as we have done for decades, will definitely go back.
