The Royal Wootton Bassett

The food was excellent, with attention given to gluten-free needs. Our server was great. Despite the recommendation to order several small plates each to share, the portions were quite large, larger than tapas portions that I'm used to. We ended up with too much food. Gluten free items included sea bass, poutine, chicken rogan josh, and broccoli with bok choy. Traditional items included a beef roulade, cheese dumplings, and a tartlet.

Finally got to visit this place due to lock down cancelling my planned visit, and wow, the food was amazing!! A taste sensation, and the service was great too. Nothing was too much trouble. I'd seriously recommended the Goan fish curry and Asian style pork belly, delish! Gluten free dishes clearly marked on the menu, and some dishes could also be adapted too. Massive wine selection and the cocktails were good too. My only slight disappointment which is why I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 was the desert selection. They had 4 deserts which they had a sharing offer on, all 4 deserts for £14. However as only 2 were gluten free (chocolate brownie and a posset) this didn't light up my taste buds. What I really wanted was the honeycomb cheesecake and key lime pie. A little shame as both could be made gf pretty easily without compromising on taste 😉. But overall a very good visit and I'll definitely be back 😁
