Perched atop a hill with outstanding views over Gold Hill and the Blackmore Vale, this charming café offers both outdoor and indoor seating. Its atmospheric setting reminiscent of an Italian eatery under porticoes creates a welcoming space, especially for those seeking gluten-free options in a historic, scenic location.

The salt cellar was a lovely atmospheric place. Steeped in rich history. The staff were friendly and accommodating to my gluten free needs. I had pick of the seats as I was after the lunchtime rush, so chose the seat with the best view in the house!

This very busy cafe is cunningly situated at the top of Gold Hill in Shaftesbury. We were able to sit at the window with views down Gold Hill and the countryside beyond. Service was good and as a coeliac I was happy to be able to partake in a tasty Dorset cream tea. A must try for any visitor
