The Selsey Arms

I stayed in this lovely inn on Friday last for just one night, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay! From the moment I arrived I was met with kindness and courtesy. The pub itself has a lovely atmosphere, warm and inviting and Kenny and Belinda and their lovely dog Piper are very friendly and helpful hosts, The bedroom was cosy, bright and welcoming , with a generous, comfortable double bed and an en suite bathroom with bath, plentiful hot water, shampoos etc . Lots of storage spaces in a wardrobe and chest of drawers. There were also tea and coffee facilities, biscuits and bottles of water and a useful information book with a very interesting piece on the history of the pub and the surrounding area. The food was beautifully prepared and very tasty, (gluten free, no problem!). GF pancakes for breakfast were a delicious treat, and the nicest gf food I've come across for a long time!! The pub is very conveniently situated in the middle of the Lavant valley, with lots of lovely walks around the area. It's also only ten minutes by bus to the Weald and Downland Museum. As I only had a short stay, I didn't get a chance to check out everything else in the area so I'm looking forward to coming back! We had a recent stay in the area and having been let down by a poor restaurant menu where we were staying (I am gluten intolerant) we Googled the closest pub and up came The Selsey Arms. We enjoyed a delicious meal here two evenings running, going back the second night having enjoyed the first so much. I had a pick of several gluten free options, including proper fish and chips, fried in a separate fryer. The second night I had a wonderful game bourginon, which my husband had had the night before. The welcome we received was very friendly and eating in the bar the second night we felt almost like locals! We would definitely go back if in the area.
