Had a great time here! I have celiac disease which can be very stressful when traveling. This place was suggested to me as they have protocols to avoid cross contamination. After placing my order a manager came over and said my waiter had let her know that I have an allergy/sensitivity and that they take it ver seriously. She said they work hard to ensure there is no cross contamination and that my food would come out with a red flag to confirm it is gluten free. This made me feel very comfortable as I didn’t even ask to talk to anyone they just did it! I had gluten free rigatoni alla vodka which was good. I was so happy with the service that I came back today for breakfast and had some of the best home fries I’ve ever had! Highly recommend this place, food, staff, and atmosphere are all great.

We went here for lunch after exploring the Smithsonian. I have serious food allergies (dairy, soy , & gluten) & I reviewed the menu ahead of time to ensure there were options I could work with. When we were seated, our server, Usman greeted us, & I took the opportunity to ask about allergy accommodations. He ensured me they took allergies very seriously and would easily be able to accommodate my allergies. I ordered The Smith Bar Steak, and the chef made certain that my food was cooked without dairy, wheat, or soy. Since the peppercorn was made with dairy, the chef sent my steak out with chimichurri on the side, instead. It was phenomenal!! I asked for the garlic aioli, momentarily forgetting that most restaurant condiments were made with soybean oil, but the chef did not! Usman came out and explained that the chef had not provided it, because it had soybean oil. I'm so grateful the staff was on top of things! That would have been a dreadful mistake on my part. Everything was delicious, especially the spinach! Probably the best sauteed spinach I've had! Thank you again to Usman & Raspberry for making this a wonderful experience! All in all, I would absolutely return. The staff was kind, attentive, and focused on taking care of their guests. They even have flags for allergy dishes, so that staff and guests know they are getting the right meal, in the event of duplicate orders. If you have allergies and are nervous about eating out like I am, I would recommend you suggest this restaurant the next time you're friends want to go out to eat.

They took care of us. I have a gluten allergy and they made sure I was okay. The manager even came by. I can't say enough about how good everything tasted. Please eat here.
