The Springwood

Outstanding! This restaurant is the closest to a Michelin star cuisine in Durham region. The meals were absolutely delicious. Proteins were cooked to perfection and adorned with sauces that truly elevated the dish. My swordfish was fabulous. The fondue fantastic. Service was first class. They did a great job of accommodating the gluten free and pescatarian requirements of our party of six. The owners are doing a great job of leading the way in sustainable cuisine with locally sourced ingredients. Lighting was good. Playlist excellent. Not too loud.

The Springwood is such a gem with focus on farm to table experience and local seasonal produce. The welcoming cozy atmosphere was so lovely. Knowledge and explanation of the menu was top notch as was service by all the staff. Very much a family sharing vibe but also catered to our friend who is gluten free. They allowed us to sit and chat well beyond our meal without being rushed out as our table wasn’t booked afterwards. Will definitely be returning to try the “come over for dinner” option of the chefs selection. You won’t be disappointed!
