The Stag Inn

No wonder Chris Martin ( Coldplay) popped in !! We rang on the off chance of booking in for Sunday lunch , although fully booked we were offered a one hour window , which we thankfully accepted . The Stag is a family run pub with a welcoming atmosphere . Sunday lunch was excellent , my wife is gluten free and she opted for the nutroast , we were quickly informed that it wasn't GF so she opted for the locally sourced chicken ( child's portion ) she was offered GF cauliflower cheese to compensate for the Yorkshire pudding that came with the meal , all served on suitably hot plates . The quality of food was excellent , wonderful crispy roasties ,extra gravy and lashings of any sauce you wanted . We didn't manage to try the pudding menu as we were suitably replete after the main course ! The staff were super efficient and very friendly , when you compare prices to other local pubs The Stag is an absolute winner !!

Fantastic service and fabulous food! I had cajun chicken and king prawn. It was singular on the menu, but I decided to order anyway, despite previous disappointing experiences elsewhere. When it arrived there were 4 good sized prawns, and lots of chicken, salad, chips, and all delicious! Sadly it's a 5 hour drive from our home, so it may be a while before I can return! The staff were very helpful, one of our party is gluten free, and they really couldn't do enough for her, it was great!
