I’ve not tried this fish and chip shop before so I thought I’d give it a try.
It appears they have a good selection of things to choose from on their menu.
However, standing in the queue for a 5 minutes, I noticed a small sign saying ‘cash only’.
Now, I’m all in support for using cash where possible, however I usually use Apple Pay, I was unable to stay in the queue and had to leave. I heard a couple behind me say ‘oh it’s only cash’ and they left also.
To this, I had to get back in my car and order through the Deliveroo app, to then go back into the store to collect.
Surely, this isn’t the best for the business as Deliveroo takes a percentage? It all seems back to front. Not sure if they don’t want to pay to use a card machine or it was broken, I have no idea.
Anyways, upon picking up the food, it tasted lovely, but I asked for regular chips but I received a very small portion.
Overall, it wasn’t the best experience, fairly stressful to get a portion of fish and chips, I would most likely use another chip shop in future to save the hassle.
Side note: they do offer a gluten free option which is a bonus.
