Fantastic food and service
I was looking for somewhere to eat on Saturday night, whilst visiting Tunbridge Wells on a last minute break. Being both dairy and gluten free, this isn't the easiest task. I noticed the warm, welcoming lights through the windows from the road and looked at the menu. I wasn't sure if I'd be able to eat anything, but the menu looked interesting and suggested they took great care over their offerings. I asked if by any chance they had any cancellations/a table for one, and if yes, was there anything I could eat that was gluten and dairy free. As luck had it, they had 1 table free and could offer a surprising number of options. They were so helpful and accommodating. With the waiter's help I ordered an amazing feta based salad for starters, which they switched to vegan feta - it was absolutely delicious. They also provided GF bread and a vegan spread (as I didn't want the oil and balsamic). They even produced an amuse bouche, which was a deviation to the goats cheese based one I heard other diners receiving (and which I obviously wouldn't be able to eat). The main of pan seared seabass, butternut squash and chickpea casserole was incredible. Whilst enjoying the starter, the chef came out to check how everything was. He was so welcoming and helpful. All the staff are. They are all so professional, friendly and accommodating.
Considering I turned up without any warning, on the off-chance that they might have a space and something on their menu I could eat, on the busiest night of the week - they and their food are truly amazing. I hadn't planned on revisiting Tunbridge Wells soon, but I may have to - to enjoy this amazing restaurant again. Oh and the icing on the cake, they've got a pianist playing Satie's Gymnopedie no. 1 and various other well known classics. What a place.
