The food is alright but the service is a huge let down. They're nice enough but absolutely clueless with allergens. Menu doesn't state what is or can be made gluten free. We asked what is GF and they said "tell us what you want and we'll work around it". Ordered the Cumberland ring, did the obligatory paperwork etc. then 20 mins later they come out to announce it's impossible to make that GF (sausage with wheat in is the sign of a poor quality sausage btw). Anyway place another order (again obligatory paperwork). Service was slow enough as it was without all this. Same happened with the desert for someone who was dairy free. The food itself is ok but nothing to write home about. Absolutely wouldn't be going here if you had a really serious allergy or coeliac. How you can be making people sign paperwork when you can't even tell folk what is or isn't gluten free is beyond me.

Can’t comment on the rooms as have only ever have breakfast or lunch. Breakfast is great,good value for money- the service is good and the dining area is fresh and always very clean. Even when we arrived without booking for lunch on a very busy day we were made to feel welcome, the owner being very welcoming and accommodating for my wife’s gluten intolerance.
