My family and I recently celebrated my mom's birthday at Tony’s on the Lake, which has been a special place for her her entire life. Growing up on the lake, she’s made countless memories here, and we always appreciate Tony's for its wonderful service, delicious food, and gluten-free options that cater to her needs.
This year, we requested her favorite table by the fireplace, a cozy spot that’s perfect in the colder months. Unfortunately, when we arrived, we were told the fireplace wasn’t working and couldn’t be lit due to an issue. The area felt quite chilly without it, but we were assured it wasn’t possible. So, we settled in and still enjoyed an excellent meal, including her favorite pulled mozzarella appetizer and an espresso martini. The staff was attentive, and we had a great time together.
The next day, however, I was surprised to see a Facebook post from Tony’s showing the fireplace on with a caption about enjoying a cozy Sunday. This left us feeling a bit misled about one of my mom's favorite parts of dining at Tony’s. While I understand things can go wrong, it would have been nice to know we’d miss out on something that meant a lot to her.
Overall, Tony’s remains a beautiful place with top-notch food, drinks, and service, and we will certainly be back. I just hope in the future there’s clearer communication about these details to ensure guests feel fully accommodated.
