Trattoria Pugliese / 1888 Lounge Bar

We had an absolutely brilliant lunch here, I fully recommend visiting, but book before if you can! We arrived much later than we'd planned without a booking (2:30pm, late for lunch) only to find the restaurant full with locals. With us walking around and finding nothing else open in the area the staff very kindly were able to squeeze us in. So happy they did as the food is that perfect combination of authentic rustic Italian while being both elegant and fair price wise. The wine was of course excellent with lots of local options and the staff were amazing. I am coeliac and gluten free options were not a problem with the staff going out of their way to adapt courses for me. One of if not the best meal of our holiday.

After years of frequenting I can say it: a guarantee!! Not only attentive staff, kind hospitality, impeccable chef Pepé and Vittoria who takes care of everything and everyone... Let's also say that they also manage to satisfy vegans and celiacs with dishes that have absolutely nothing to envy from the "normal" ones (yes , even if you are veg and celiac at the same time... If you manage to give a little notice of your needs you will feel truly pampered). The care of the room and the elegant environment without excess complete everything. Never been disappointed!
