Family group of 6 arriving at the peak of the dinner rush. The restaurant is packed, and there will be a wait. Understood, especially since we didn't have a reservation.
We were seated after about 30 minutes in a somewhat tucked away area. Our amazing server, Lydia, arrived on the scene to take appetizer and drink orders, while giving us a bit more time to consider entrees.
We ended up with apps, an assortment of sushi rolls, pineapple chicken fried rice, teriyaki chicken, General Tso's chicken, and others. Miso soup, clear soup, ginger salad, curry, mochi and more.
I took advantage of tasting many of the dishes, and was blown away with the consistent excellence of all.
The service was absolutely superior, and the dining experience was a total delight. Lydia had a terrific level of knowledge of the items on the menu that were, or could be, prepared gluten-free. A very important aspect of the experience for our diner with celiac disease.
Our youngest diner just returned from 2 1/2 years of living in Japan, and gave her dinner 2 thumbs up, noting that the miso soup and chicken curry made her feel like she was back in Tokyo.
Thank you, Lydia, for phenomenal service!
Food portions, quality, and pricing were completely reasonable.
You would do well to make Tsunami your next dinner destination!
