UNO RAMEN -Sanjo- Vegan & Gluten-Free SUSHI

This was my FAVORITE meal in Kyoto and is the best place for someone who is gluten free and vegan (the omnivores in my group loved it too). It was such a beautiful spot and had an upscale and traditional feel. We started off with the tofu, which you make AT the table; it was incredible and a very unique experience. The tofu was supple and absolutely delicious with some salt. We got several sushi rolls, my favorite being the grilled yuba. I think of this meal often and wish I could have it again!

one of the best meals i've ever had. i would come back to japan just to eat here again. all vegan and gluten free ramen, sushi, and more. if you live in the bay area the sushi is kind of similar to shizen, but a million times better. our group ordered ramen, shumai dumplings, the tofu dish (you have to get this, it's an experience), and sushi. the sushi was so delicious, i have no idea how they made something so amazing, its magic. i recommend the tofu dish because you literally get to make fresh tofu at your table. it's surprisingly simple but still delicious. they also share different ways to eat the tofu. the space itself was beautifully designed with an outdoor area. i'll be dreaming about this meal for years to come.

What a beautiful restaurant and delicious food! Everything is vegan and gluten free. It’s expensive but worth it! FYI - you take your shoes off when entering the restaurant.
