Umi Kitchen and Sushi Bar

Our favorite sushi in Spokane! We’re both symptomatic celiacs (gluten free) and our server was knowledgeable about what was safe and what could lead to cross contamination. The food was fantastic, we’re excited to come back next time we’re in Spokane. Both upstairs and downstairs are great vibes, highly recommend!

This place is super cute. Love the atmosphere and they really take advantage of the small space they have to seat as many people as they can. This leaves tight quarters but it is appreciated. The server was so nice and gave great recommendations and was very personable. She even showed us an appetizer she recommended that another guest got as our options are limited as my friend is gluten intolerant and she was very forthcoming with the sushi options we were considering and the possibility of gluten which was so sweet! The rolls were…fine? They were not wrapped up tight enough at all. It made for a very messy meal as they were falling apart and were not quite “bite size” which is expected with sushi. They do have an option for an upcharge to get real crab instead of imitation crab which was amazing! First time I’ve seen this option advertised and I was thrilled…I am not a fan of fishy flavor…ironic I know. The soft shell crab in the roll I got was so good and perfectly fried but I couldn’t hold the roll together to save my life. My friend got the fresh roll which was my absolute favorite of the options we got. It was also loose but it was so tasty!
