Great historic restaurant ! We both had the scotch beef special on Sunday and they made it gluten-free for me. It was quite good although, they did not ask what temperature we preferred , the drinks and wine list are well done, and the menu had a wide variety of food, the service was slow considering the restaurant was only about 15%.

I had the steak and it was perfect. My partner who is celiac ordered a gluten free venison burger and was served a brioche bun burger that was not gluten free when we asked the wait staff. They then served her a burger with an inedible bun, I mean the bun was so hard I crushed it into breadcrumbs in front of the wait staff. It looked like the bun had been taken out of the freezer and microwaved for a much longer time than was needed so it had totally dried out. She was able to eat the pattie. There was no offer of a new bun or a discount. We won’t be rushing back.
