This review requires a back story. For many long years I have travelled between Bristol and Canning Town to go to my partner's home. I've long been aware that, sadly, the local area of Newham is not a thriving hot spot of healthy food options. In Bristol I'm fine of course and have no issues because I grow my own food and I'm spoilt for choice by local shops on my doorstep selling fresh organic produce and locally sourced products. London ruins my health though, every time I come here :( Even the takeaway options around me back home allow me to find something tasty and not terrible for me at the same time... but I just haven't been able to find any way to look after my body when I do go away. I normally end up bringing a big bag of shopping with me and do all my own cooking at my partners place to try mitigate the issue. What usually happens, after a heavy weekend in good old London, is that my poor body hates me and is screaming out for healthy food come Monday morning. I need to sort myself out to face the long travel home and I've eaten the big bag of greens and veggies that I'd bought with me already. That and I will often be far too fragile to go outside and forage something else to cook. Usually this leads to takeaway self destruction out of lack of other options. But not today! Today I saw this place on deliveroo amongst the sea of beige food options full of gluten, which my body doesnt tolerate. I scrolled endlessly through all the greasy rubbish, or overpriced tiny portions of disappointing bland and soggy vegetable options and I thought I would take a risk and try this one out. I nearly didn't as I have been burned before with trying a new place in the hopes it might be OK, only to find that most have been a huge disappointment on so many levels. Normally I now just opt for stuff that isn't good for me because at least I know I'll get lots of it and ve full after and that it will be enjoyable to actually eat. I am so glad I took a gamble today and ordered from this place instead of one of my go to normal ones. Sooooo glad! I got the shredded beef salad and when it arrived I was first of all struck by the no skimp portions... it was HUGE!!! It looked beautiful too. There was no hiding or burying sad looking vegetables under layers of sauce or rice. This place clearly used fresh ingredients and good quality ones too. The ultimate test though is obviously how does it taste? Is it good to actually eat? The answer - YES! O my god I feel like I've won the lottery and so happy I could cry out off sheer relief to this food option nightmare finally being solved. The sald was incredible. 10/10 this was one of the most tasty salads I have ever eaten and I enjoyed every fork full I stuck in my mouth. Where have you been all these years I needed you? Haha. Pickled red cabbage was a really good one, the glass noodles were perfect for the texture amongst it all, the beef was lovely and all the other aspects in the salad really worked so well. The flavours and the dressing (although i am glad I bought an extra pot of it) are clearly well thought out and everything compliments ones another in flavour and texture. I really can't wait to eat this again, and/or try your other ones. This is probably the longest and most dramatic review I've ever written, but this place is seriously amazing. I am even more happy after looking at their website from the nice note with my takeaway and seeing how they formed and their values. Brilliant! Please, please, please never stop being a deliveroo option to Canning Town. You guys are the answer to my dreams and answer to my problem. Right, I'm off to go home with a smile on my face, feeling energised and bright and pleased knowing that I'm not going to suffer a load of inflammation and misery later on due to eating rubbish food. Thank you for saving me from food hell and I will look forward to eating your salads more every time I visit ❤️
