My favorite restaurant in the Boston area. I’ve gone here many times. Always able to accommodate gluten-free requests. High ingredient quality. Nice creativity. My only complaint was the broccoli burnt on a charcoal grill and then intentionally smoked with charcoal smoke. Absolutely awful beyond burnt flavor and probably contributing to long term cancer risk from acrylamide and AGEs, as well as unnecessary smoke inhalation for kitchen staff. Might just be my personal preference, but I can’t imagine anyone liking that insanely burnt flavor. One minor thing: the chocolate mousse dessert was tiny (but flavorful), even smaller than desserts I’ve eaten in Michelin starred and Bib Gourmand restaurants in France.

Urban Hearth is an oasis of delicious food, amazing staff, and offers a cozy vibe. I can’t wait to go back! I was excited to discover that they have gluten free and dairy free menus and zero proof beverages. My favorite was the lamb carpaccio (which was great for me as a gf and df human) and I loved my zero proof drink that I think was called My Bloody Valentine. Make sure to make a reservation and support this amazing local spot. Thank you Urban Hearth team!
