V's Italiano Ristorante

I met with some friends there on Sunday 5/4 for the brunch buffet. The decor is quite dated (50’s to 70’s), dark with glass and brass, which was nostalgic for me. All of the buffet food was room temp, which was quite disappointing and unpleasant (especially the hollandaise, it really affected the texture). The plate of various meats that were brought to the table were warm but very overcooked. I also found the seasoning very inconsistent, some things needed salt, other things had too much salt. Our server, Cheryl, was fantastic, attentive and friendly. The bathroom was quite small and difficult to move around in if you were in there with another person. They were also down some steep stairs. One of my party has mobility issues and didn’t feel safe using them. Another of my party needed Gluten Free and there wasn’t much available to her, the server kindly offered to bring her some ice cream. This was overall a disappointing experience considering it was $30.

Atmosphere was nice. Servers were nice. The food however was over priced for how mediocre it ended up being. The presentation could also use some improvement. I ordered the shrimp cocktail for an appetizer, it came out on a plate. I asked for my salad to have no cheese specifically, it came with cheese on it. The salad presentation alone looked like those old high school lunches from back in the day. That was corrected immediately so that I'm thankful for. However I was in the mood to have the gluten free fettuccine con pollo. The noodles I could tell were gluten free but I can't say with confidence that the sauce was the same. It made my stomach turn So I wasn't comfortable finishing that dish.
