VOX Brasserie & Bar

My husband and I went here on a whim. I cannot recommend it enough. The Reykjavik mule was 10/10. We did tapas and had: pan fried perch, potatoes, carrots, butternut risotto, and the seafood soup. Everything was amazing and gluten free. I will be back!

Pros: Fantastic food at a Reykjavik institution and a cool vibe. Cons: Worst service I had in Iceland. We informed the staff of my wife's gluten allergies and they refused to make any accommodations. We had previously paid for 2 glasses of champagne from the lobby bar and the waiter asked what we were having and then HE HAD THE NERVE TO CHARGE US FOR DRINKS WE PAID FOR ON OUR OWN. In my entire life of dining out, I have never seen such BS. I went ahead and complained to the management and while they took the charges off, there was no apology or offer of another round of drinks. This place rests on its laurels. It is also REALLY FAR from downtown. I have flagged these issues to Amex Platinum and have asked that they be removed from their list of recommended restaurants in Iceland. I will also tell my huge network to go elsewhere. It only gets 2 stars because of the food.
