I’ve been meaning to try this place since it opened! Finally, tonight I thought to make an order for carryout. For reference, I’m not vegan or vegetarian, I’ve just seen it driving by the area. I decided to try a few different things to get an idea of what they offered. I got the cauliflower wings, the paneer burger, the butter chik’n bowl and a mango lassi. Now, my husband picked up my order and made two stops on the way, and by the time he got back, my food wasn’t hot…grrr. BUT, even lukewarm, I was SO impressed with the taste of everything! My order was for less than an hour prior to close, but all the food was very fresh tasting. Cauliflower wings were great, I liked them as much or more than chicken. The batter was soggy (thanks to my husband, lol) and I liked them still, they will be even better next time. The paneer burger was a slice of paneer (non melting) cheese battered and fried, on a bun with lettuce, tomato & peri peri sauce. I got the regular bun (not gluten free), it was a toasted bun, maybe a brioche. The taste and textures were just as satisfying as anything with meat. I meant to eat only half, but scarfed the whole thing down. The butter chik’n bowl might have been the winner. It came with “chik’n” in a butter sauce, and to be totally honest, I had a hard time believing it wasn’t actual chicken. I’ve had regular butter chicken tons of time and I have no idea how this vegetarian version is made but it’s great and I can’t believe it wasn’t meat. It came in a bowl with a small salad at one end and a generous portion of basmati rice in the center with a pale orange sauce (probably peri peri) drizzled on top. I stopped eating to save some for tomorrow with difficulty. I saved the mango lassi for dessert. It’s like a mango & yogurt type smoothie, very smooth and sweet, not icy or pulpy at all. If you like mango, you’ll like this. I’ll definitely be back again to try more dishes!
