Monday night at 6:25, we got one of the last 3 tables. Unlike other Vietnamese restaurants I've been in, Viet Family has a good atmosphere. If it wasn't for the fact that t's over crowded and noisy with too many tables, I would have rank the atmosphere three stars. We didn't go for the pho but for vegan food. I was able to request no green onions and no garlic for all the dishes, so I did not detect garlic in the food and did not get sick from the food – yay! We ordered Wok Fried Brussels sprouts, Fried Dumplings, Eggplant Chick'n, and Bun Sai Gon. The Brussels sprouts were very nice, they were greasy but not some I've tasted – almost as though they were air fried first. The sauce of the fried dumplings was good, I should have kept it for the vermicelli that came with the Bun Sai Gon dish. I liked the eggplant chick'n dish, but I wish that it was 70% eggplant and 30% chick'n as I am still trying to be careful about eating gluten. The Bun Sai Gon looked good in Google pictures, but I didn't enjoy the 'meat' as much as the chick'n. I'm glad it has some salad greens, cucumber and sliced carrots and daikon though just to improve the whole plant ratio of our meal. Overall, the service was good even though they could have used a third server, the servers were both very patient and explained various dishes to me. I enjoyed the vegan variety. We had to wait a while for the food, but that means that the food was made to order and so, I didn't mind the wait. I should point out that my partner did not feel the same about the food and felt that it wasn't as enjoyable.
