Vernales Restaurant

This was our first time here, it was a special occasion, and they went all out. I have to eat gluten-free, so appreciated so many delicious GF options. They have three dining experiences available but we chose the Wine Cellar, and it was perfect for us. The staff was incredible, extremely polite, friendly and professional. This is a "must visit" restaurant!

Stopped in for a meal on a break from biking. After checking out the menu I ordered a shrimp taco that had a gf sign next to it. The tacos arrived and I took a bite and I could hardly chew the leathery white shell. The taco consisted of shredded lettuce a few pieces of tomato and some small white shrimp-the only flavor was the sauce drizzled on top. The absolute worst tacos I’ve ever eaten! The bill came and was $2.50 extra without any reason why. Then she said corn shells were extra. Why?? The tacos came gluten free. It was not listed and we were not told and it was not in fine print anywhere. She would not take off the charge at first. Then had to talk to the manager and hung out at the hostess desk for a while.! An extremely poor dining experience and rude service! Deceptive billing practices!
