Vertical Diner

I love the food at Vertical Diner. Everything is vegan and there are many clearly labeled gluten free options. Once in a while the service is “off,” but I’ve been going here for years and it is one of my favorite places to eat in SLC.

This place is such a gem! They have the best gluten-free and vegan food! They also have a separate fryer for their fries, which is great because my wife has Celiac disease. You would also never even know their food is vegan. It’s just great food overall. The nachos, tofu scramble, pancakes, fries, and La Mesa are some of our favorite dishes here.

What an absolute delight to be able to walk into someplace and know that everything on the menu is plant-based! The waiter was very helpful in answering questions, as my family has additional allergies, on top of being vegan. But there were so many gluten-free options, and everything was delicious. We really enjoyed the fried brussels sprout appetizer and the french fries with vegan cheese sauce appetizer. The breakfast plate was yummy as well, and having the ability to get gluten-free vegan pancakes is such a treat. Neither of us particularly liked the tempeh bacon, as it was too smoky tasting and reminded me of a campfire. But that’s just a personal preference. We will definitely be back for taco Tuesday and any other time we come to visit Salt Lake, this will be at the top of our list. Thanks.
