Viaggio Restaurant Chicago

We were planning to go to a nearby restaurant, but we were blown away by Viaggio. The service at the bar was great, the wine lift was respectable and reasonably priced, and the food was excellent; far exceeding expectations. The sausage and peppers was authentic and delicious, with an excellent crust and sauce. The veal in the veal Marsala was EXTREMELY tender, and the dish was hot, with great seasoning and pepper levels. I also appreciated that they had gluten free penne for the meal. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed Saturday dinner and there was great energy in the restaurant.

My first experience with Viaggios was before a concert at the United Center, I took my grown daughter and the two of us had a great meal and the waiters did not rush us at all. The second visit was for my 25th wedding anniversary. The manager comp'd us one drink each for the occasion. When the server learned that my husband required a gluten-free diet, they asked him what he liked and the chef made a gluten-free pasta with a custom prepared sauce and ingredients. There was a Hawks game that night and the crowd was rather boisterous but, the server made our night very special. We live in the far west suburbs but the drive was worth it. We will be back!
