Victoria Hotel, Woodend

We recently held my father’s wake at The Victoria Hotel in Woodend, with close to 400 people in attendance, and I cannot thank Emily and Tash enough. They are, hands down, one of the most amazing and supportive teams I’ve ever come across. Everything ran so smoothly—from the service to the atmosphere—but what truly stood out was the care and attention they gave to our family. They made sure we were eating, had a drink in hand, and never once let the scale of the event affect the warmth and personal attention they offered. A special thank you for the thoughtful care shown to me as a coeliac—it meant so much. We’ve had countless comments from guests about how beautiful the venue and service were. Thank you again, Emily and Tash—you helped us honour Dad in the most wonderful way. Highly recommend.

Great food and service. Great gluten free options.

Absolutely loved my gluten free experience here. We each got parmas, one regular, one GF. This was in February 2023 so during the "great chip shortage" the server was super attentive and alert to gluten free needs and actively checked (I didn't need to ask) that the alternative potato side was still gluten free and cooked separately to avoid cross contamination. This is a really big deal if you're coeliac so it was great service. Parma was delicious, thick tender chicken and a crispy coating. I also liked that the tomato sauce wasn't chunky or oniony.
