Vine

We enjoyed a fabulous wine and dine experience at Vine, a veritable culinary gem in Irvington VA. Beginning with a complimentary wine tasting, the evening flowed with gracious service provided by an attentive and helpful server. One of our party is gluten free and the chef was consulted to ensure a positive dining experience. Small plates were shared. Highlights included a creative and complex quinoa salad brightened by a thinly sliced Granny Smith apple. Another salad featured fresh shrimp, and avocado, a common pairing but emboldened by a creamy yet slightly herbaceous and acidic dressing. One the carnivore palate, short ribs disappeared, we should have ordered two shares! An "osso bucco" of pork shank was creamily decadent, braising melting and melding the tender meat and connective tissue. Meat balls were rapidly speared from their bowls. Simple haricot vers provided a fresh foil to the succulent flavors on the other plates. The chef stopped by to say hello and make sure we were pleased - very much so. If you're down on the Northern Neck, Vine is well worth a visit. You won't be disappointed.
