Vinnie's Neighborhood Italian South

Two friends and I went to Vinnie's in South Asheville for one friend's birthday. She was very pleased to see they had gluten free pasta options because many Italian restaurants don't. All of our dishes were very good. Portions are huge, but prices reflect that considering it's standard Italian fare. We had trouble finding a wine we liked to the Assistant Manager Kelli spent a bunch of time with us helping us find something we liked. If I was the owner, I would do what I could to make sure she stays, she's an excellent addition to the staff. They gave us a free dessert for her birthday and it was a delicious, huge portion of tiramisu. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because of their horrible wine selection. You would think that a restaurant with relatively expensive Italian food would have a good wine selection, but not.

We are excited to have you in the hood. The staff were experienced and welcoming. We went on their second night of being open and they were running very smoothly. The food was excellent - had the chicken piccata with gluten free noodles and spinach. So delicious. The interior is gorgeous with red leather booths and a vaulted ceiling. I will definitely come back. We sat at the bar which was fun to watch the activity. They definitely have the best Italian food in Asheville.
