I visited just before the Christmas cream teas started, and while we couldn't get a spot for that, I have finally got around to writing our visit. I don't normally do reviews, but I just felt this place really deserved it.
The food was absolutely brilliant, as was the service, there was a small bit of a wait on our coffees but when a lovely, smiley girl brought over our cream tea it all tasted lovely and fresh.
My best friend is celiac, and we were both blown away by how perfectly she was accommodated for. Every single item she was served was exactly the same as mine, and for the first time in over 25 years of eating out together, we got to enjoy the SAME meal. It was genuinely wonderful to experience this, as so often she is left with a token packeted brownie while I guiltily tuck in to whatever I have chosen. The girl who made our food mentioned that she was also gluten-free and truly understood the struggle, which came across in every detail.
My meal was equally delicious, we both had mini scones, sausage rolls, a lovely variety of cakes and so much more we had to ask for a box to take the rest home to be shared with our families.
We've been back twice since, it's so lovely to see her have real options and not just "make do". We wish we lived closer, but the trip is absolutely worth it, and I think we'll be making monthly trips back in 2025!
Thank you for such a wonderful experience! This place is a gem.
