Whistle Stop Cafe

You know the type of cafe/ restaurant that only exists in the movies? It has the kind and warm owner, unique regulars, and unbelievably delicious food tucked into a small cafe in a charming small town? That’s whistle stop cafe. Everything about my experience was charming, memorable, and DELICIOUS. Whistle stop has tons of options for everyone, including me (a vegan) and my aunt (gluten free). Not only do they have vegan and gluten free options, but the owner has made sure they take both vegan and gluten free seriously. She does everything in her power to limit cross contamination and is transparent about everything. AND she makes sure the vegan and/ or gluten free options are delicious. I had one of the best tofu scrambles I’ve ever had and don’t even get me started on the potatoes! You haven’t had potatoes until you’ve had them at whistle stop. Overall, whistle stop is a must and every person who drives through town should stop and experience it. Oh!! To my fellow vegans- Get the vegan hot chocolate!

Wonderful experience with both the food and the staff. They care about the foods they are serving and make it a point to source locally. Totally casual atmosphere right on the river if you want to sit outside or grab a table from the small dining room. Super yummy vegan and gluten free options available too. The food was delicious and the hospitality wonderful. Too bad I don't live nearby!
