White Elephant Thai Cuisine Calgary

Been wanting to try this place for a while, as it has been hyped up so much on various platforms. Atmosphere is a bit awkward. You enter into this odd space that looks like it's trying to be 8 different things at once. Is it a VLT lounge? Is it a bar? Maybe a convenience store? I have no idea but the restaurant is down the hallway to the back. The in-house menus don't have the gluten free indicatiors on the dishes, so we had to use the online menu to figure out which items my friend could have. There's no drink menu, and their selection is supremely limited...which is disappointing because when I go for Asian food I love having beer from that region along with the meal. Server was friendly, but she was the only one. It wasn't overly busy, so she was managing, but it wasn't the most prompt service ever. She also forgot one of our dishes, but that ended up being a blessing in disguise, as we ordered too much as it was.

Bit of a mission to find the entrance but well worth the adventure! Food is sooooooo delicious!! Friendly staff and extremely accomodating to gluten free vegetarian!
