White Horse

After quite some time on from my first visit early last year as a coeliac it's great to say that the white horse is still reassuringly excellent to eat at. The menu still has many excellent and tasty choices that are either gluten free by default or can be made that way. My favourite is the sticky beef and salt and pepper strips. Lovely and tender with cracking unami flavouring. Absolutely delicious. The chips are a must. And the gf battered onion rings are top tier. Indistinguishable from muggle batter and not too thick and not too whispy thin. The staff were proper stars as well with great knowledge and understanding all around. No hesitation when I asked if they had a separate GF fryer. One of the lovely staff even mentioned her mother was a coeliac as well and ate there regularly. Which certainly helps build trust. And such a lovely pub to visit for food as well or a drink. Dog friendly, but check as that maybe only certain areas. Families welcome but check times for children. If I had one bit of constructive feedback it would be that I wish they had more choices of gluten free beer. I love beer and it's great they serve cask ale. Gluten free cask ale is available and from local breweries as well. I'd love to see more choices of them on the bar or even more bottles or cans in the fridge other than just gf beers you can get from the supermarket. Currently they only had GF peroni. Can't wait to visit again. Keep up the excellent work guys!

Beautiful Sunday dinner. 7 of us went, 3 had triple meat plate 4single meat, 2 drinks each came to just short of £150 great value. 1 dinner was a glutton free option as daughter is coeliac. Gets quite busy, so you may have to wait sometimes, but well worth the wait. Nice outside area.
