Wood Ranch

1000 / 1000 rating, 5 million stars. I cannot recommend this place enough but I will try to convince you, all the same. I grew up in Camarillo. Discovered buffalo chicken wings were my vice at this Wood Ranch when I was 10. Went there for every birthday or celebration. When I turned 18, I moved to the East Coast for college. No Wood Ranches over there. Before the pandemic, my work took me around the world a few times. No Wood Ranches. This summer, I turn 31. My family and I decided to road trip across the country from New York City back to my hometown of Camarillo. We ordered takeout from this Wood Ranch the day we arrived. I cannot properly express how impressed I am that the quality and taste of the food has not diminished even the tiniest bit. It somehow not just met but blew away my impossibly high, nostalgia-fueled expectations all at once. During our visit home, we have now dined in or ordered takeout from this wood ranch more times than might be sane but I am not ashamed. I will be ordering takeout today and will be going again next weekend for my birthday. There's many amazing places to eat across the country. Im looking forward to trying more when we road trip back to NYC at the end of the summer. But no hyperbole. This has literally been my favorite restaurant on the planet for 20+ years. Pro-tip, if you're good with gluten and dairy: dip the garlic rolls in ranch dressing.

Oh the delicious gluten ... Their pre- food bread rolls are def good enough for cheat day! The ultimate burger is 3 layers of their finest meats. A burger after my own heart and bigger than my head 🤣. I wouldn't kick those loaded potato skins outta bed either! 😜
