At about 4pm today, Sunday 20th June, 2021, I was surprised to see that the 'free from gluten' bread shelf, which is often, almost, or completely empty, was fully stacked. I picked a loaf up by the plastic corner + put it in my trolley. When I was putting it onto the checkout, I realised that it was frozen, just starting to thaw. Why would Woolies The Fresh Food People need to stack the shelf on the afternoon of 20th June with frozen bread, with a Best Before Date of 11th July, 2021? How often does this occur? There is no signage to say that the bread had been frozen. I imagine people buying this bread tomorrow morning, when it will be completely thawed, will think that the shelf has been stacked with fresh bread for the start of the week. Woolworths needs to explain why this has happened and whether this is their usual practice.
April, 2023. The practice of having frozen gluten free bread on the shelves gas continued - well that is, if there is actually any on the shelves.
