Love this trendy open kitchen Japanese restaurant. Counter seating is fantastic to view the food being made and prepared in the busy open kitchen. Food is delicious and lots to choose from including vegan gluten free options. Constructive feedback, drinks slow to arrive and dietary codes are needed on the menus. I booked counter seating but was sat at a dining table. I mentioned this to the host and was then seated at counter seating as booked.

We dined an Yakimono last night as a party of three from Brisbane and wow where do I start. Firstly, our waitress Maggie was the best. One of our group is a coeliac and she immediately brought over a menu entailing what she could and couldn’t eat. She was attentive and prompt, taking our orders and filling up our drinks exactly when we needed it. But the food was next level. Our favourites were the pork gyoza and tuna dynamite to start as well as the bbq steak pork tan tan noodles and the spicy cabbage slaw were all amazing. Not to mention the drinks, the lychee cocktail was our favourite. To finish we were brought a free dessert with a candle to celebrate a birthday. We made sure to thank our waitress and the manager on the way out. Will definitely be coming back next time we’re in Melbourne and would recommend to all who asked.
