We visited on our last evening in Cornwall before returning home, we had planned on somewhere else but found they didn't allow dogs. Their loss was most certainly our gain! Finding the Olde Malthouse was a highlight of our week. The staff were all attentive and pleasant, nothing was too much trouble.
To state the food was outstanding is a vast understatement! Our table had a "Picnic Plate" - Salamanca olives, farmhouse bloomer, house pickles, house hummus, Gluten Free Fish and Chips - bubble battered hake, skin on fries, caper mayonnaise, crushed minted peas, Black lentil & Aubergine Curry - Warmly spiced roasted aubergine, 15 spices, black lentils, coconut cream, served with onion bhaji, coconut rice, potato air puffs, poppadum, Slow cooked Pork Belly - Spring onion mash, torched hispi cabbage, Cornish cider gravy, The children's menu mini battered fish and skin on fries and finished off with Vanilla pod creme brûlée, shortbread. All of which were a mouthwatering delight, Without doubt the most delicious meal of the week and amazing value for money. Would highly recommend a visit and we will certainly be back.
I can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay here but if they are anything like the food I'd imagine they'll be very good!
