I’ve been coming here about 8 years now. It’s been one of my favorite places in the area. As a few others have said… it’s a real bummer we can’t build our own sandwiches anymore. Fortunately one of the workers allowed me to order a basic turkey sandwich and just add a few toppings so it was pretty close to before. But the gluten free bread is different now too. It’s very crumbly and basically ended up as bread crumbs on a plate while I ate a wad of turkey with toppings. My 2yo couldn’t really eat it as a sandwich and you know how toddlers can be. She didn’t really eat much. But regardless, I went back to the register to order another for my husband and when I asked to do the same thing this different worker kept telling me that it’s not an option. Eventually she agreed when I explained I just ordered one. So I was kind of bummed that even that option isn’t being given. I appreciated the first worker helping me. I kept a few stars bc I know they generally use quality ingredients. And the cheese cake my husband loves looks like it’s the same (can’t say bc I’m dairy free and can’t taste it). Fingers crossed it hasn’t changed. Also, when I asked the girl (who didn’t want to let me order a turkey sandwich) if their gluten free bread had dairy she couldn’t give me an answer so I had to research the bread myself. Kind of bummed she couldn’t check the package for me. She said they used to have a sign hr she couldn’t find it. I understand their reasoning behind not offering the build your own choice but maybe there could be an in between like having the turkey sandwich available with the option to add toppings at a cost.

I'm a pretty adaptable person. When my daughter's private school (Fusion Academy, very expensive, btw) was holding their "Back to Scool Night" tonight, and our daughter expressed that she wanted to go, we made it happen, despite disparate schedules. Long before attending, I looked over the menu because Fusion Academy had ensured parents that there were gluten free options. I'm not gluten free because I want to deny myself amazing bread and food. I'm gluten free because I'm on record as allergic. The food truck was parked at Fusion Academy for this event. I asked what could be made gluten free, and the lady exasperatedly explained that they couldn't give me bread, just put sandwich ingredients on a plate. Here's the deal: if I had known that there would be no accommodation for gluten free, I'd have eaten beforehand, no big deal. But I looked at the food truck website, which said gluten free options. She wasn't kind or patient or even explained why. I'm not a Karen, and I don't make other people responsible for my dietary restrictions. However, when a business advertises that they can accommodate, and your daughter's expensive school says they can accommodate, and you walk away with a tiny bag of chips for dinner, I'd say that both of these business need to reexamine the people who are willing to support them, and proceed accordingly.
