Yesterday we went to eat with the family. We immediately noticed in the afternoon that the waitress started in English. Not that we can't do that or anything, but why don't you try to be friendly and say something in Dutch first. The tone is already set, right? Forgotten drinks, asked 3 times, incompetent. We also got a different waitress at the table each time, who didn't know much better.
During the meal it was clearly stated that we had a gluten-free person, it seemed like no one understood what that was. Luckily I brought something myself, because I had no confidence that it would be okay otherwise. The food was fine for the company.
For dessert I asked for a scoop of vanilla ice cream with whipped cream (because of the gluten, no sprinkles, candy or other nonsense in it please). To my surprise I still got a cookie in the ice cream. Well, then someone really doesn't get it.
All in all a mixed experience; messy because of the staff, gluten-free no-no's, but not a total turn-off. Could be better.
