Fantastic place to have brunch!
Being Celiac, there are often challenges with the menus, but here at Johns Place they accommodate for this. I had “Catch 22” which was half eggs benny (GF hollandaise) on a GF bun, and GF waffle.
It was excelllent and so was the coffee!!
Thank you so much for providing these options!!
A bustling venue with a vibrant atmosphere, perfect for family outings and private work lunches, known for its generous portions and lively vibe.

We had a wonderful experience thanks to our server, Erin. She was incredibly kind and friendly, making us feel right at home. Erin went out of her way to ensure we had celiac-friendly options, demonstrating genuine care for our dietary needs. Her attentiveness and warm demeanor truly made our visit special. We left feeling valued and well taken care of!

They don't have many gluten free options. I ordered and was assured that the kitchen will take care. I got sick later that night as I have celiac disease. So care was not taken.
A must-visit spot with amazing soups and a menu that caters to everyone, plus top-notch attention to detail for a worry-free experience.

Paid 16 dollars (as I gave 2 dollar tip) for some good tasting chicken soup. I was disappointed to see there were only like 3 tiny pieces of chicken in the soup. Also for folks who don’t want bread, maybe provide a gluten free option or reduce the overall price of the meal. The servers were very kind and the soup tasted good but for the price point not so much!
Experience a warm vibe with tender, perfectly smoked meats, and an impressive array of unique sides that keep everyone coming back for more.

Great celiac safe barbecue place! Everything is GF except waffles and regular buns, but they take precautions to keep celiac customers safe (changing gloves, etc). They have fantastic fried chicken which is GF, fried only with fries (also GF), and the regular bbq things. Great sandwiches, poutine, and fried chicken!
Charming 50s decor, quick service, and a fun kids menu make this spot a delightful find with awesome views of the harbor.

Surprisingly better than I expected! Especially as a local, I usually avoid tourists traps.
The Avo. Club is great! Real chicken, large pieces of bacon, Roma tomato, fresh greens, cibatta was soft n fresh too.
GF bun for Celiac folks.
Great view of Vic on the patio.

First time trying Spoons Diner, and wow! Worth the long line, and I will definitely be coming back here. I love a retro-style diner, and the food was delicious! Their gluten free english muffin was so tasty that it was suspicious. I have a gluten sensitivity and did not have any reactions from anything I ate, despite the risk of cross contamination. I would definitely recommend this place for breakfast.
Cozy and cluttered with a welcoming vibe, this spot offers quick service and a variety of options that'll keep you coming back for more.

Went for the first time and loved it. It’s cluttered but cozy and all the employees were very nice and helpful. We sat in the diner and were served by a girl with green and black hair who was very kind and helpful, especially with diet restrictions. I had a gluten free club sandwich which was good and their almond based cookies were super delicious! Overall, recommended for their quick service and friendly employees.
New spot with a unique takeout vibe; enthusiastic service and quick prep make it a must-try even if you don't usually love lamb.

I was hesitant to believe that any place with 5.0 stars was legit — but they are.
It’s all takeout — it looks like they just borrow a kitchen from a local community center and you order online and pick up through a side door. Nothing fancy about this place.
But the owner who took my order was cheerful, enthusiastic and answered all questions and knew exactly what was gluten-free and what wasn’t.
We ordered a lamb shank, baba ganoush and falafel and everything was ready in ten minutes.
My husband “hates lamb,” so when I got it home and he dug in, said “this beef is excellent,” and asked what cut it was, he was pretty surprised to find out that he actually really likes lamb when it’s done right!
This place is new so eventually they’ll get a rating under 5 stars from somewhere, but for now, their record stands!
The last two times I have come here the food has been incredible. I don’t remember there being so many more choices and love that you can get so much fresh veggies like cherry tomatoes and so many kinds of salsa. I love when burrito places do bowls so that they are gluten free! It’s a great place to come for lunch when you want to get off campus during the day.
