If you have a dietary require You have to come here. My husband is limited in what he can eat at the moment & eating out hadn’t been easy. No Gluten, no dairy, no eggs & no nuts. We have been here twice in a row due to the amazing service. The staff know their menu and were able to give multiple recommendations.
We came here the second night as we went to another high end restaurant and were looked at like freaks & told no.
The food tastes wonderful & I highly recommend it.
Ps David is a fabulous waiter!

My experience with this take away place is definitely different to what I read in previous reviews. I had the fried rice with tofu (which is gluten free and vegetarian) and I liked it. It was also enough for dinner.
We arrived at around 19:00 and waited 30 min for two dishes which I think is fine given the size of the restaurant. Oh and there was tofu in the dish!

We had an excellent time at Southern Spice. The Service was so friendly. We were visiting from Melbourne and looking for something Gluten Free for our friends. The food was excellent and was refreshing to see South Indian items on the menu. We ordered the Pumpkin Kara, Chicken Chettinad and Medu Vadu. Tasted Amazing and they didn’t hold back on the spice! Alice Springs you are sitting on a Gastronomic institution for years to come.
After reading the other reviews I was weary of eating here, yet it was one of the last places we were yet to try in Darwin. In saying that, our food and overall experience was absolutely amazing. The service was outstanding and actually refreshing to see staff that were willing to go out of their way to make your dining experience great, the food was honestly some of the best Thai and Indian we have ever had in Australia. The menu very clearly states whats vegan, what has a vegan option, same with gluten free AND if it contains chillies for heat. The staff asked us when ordering how hot we would like our curries ect so there was absolutely no problem there. Price was incredibly affordable and meals generous. We hope to come back soon.
