Top 6 Gluten-Free Asian Spots to Explore in Charlottesville

If I could give 6 stars for service, I absolutely would. Not only is this the best Thai restaurant in town (with so many *clearly* marked vegan and gluten-free options), they have an exceptional staff who really go above and beyond. One time recently when I placed a to-go order, I had an emergency come up and completely forgot about my order. They texted me to let me know they were closing, then when I didn't respond, they texted me again to let me know they had wrapped my food up (to keep it dry, it was raining) and put it in a safe place on their patio for me to pick up when I could. When I finally saw their texts, I responded to apologize and explain, and then they called me to make sure I was okay and asked if one of them could drop the food off to me on their way home (insert "face holding back tears" emoji here). Even if the food was terrible (which it absolutely is not; the Panang Curry, Fresh Rolls, and Thai Fried Rice are especially delicious), I would still eat here because they people that work here are so darn sweet. Soooo good!!! Chicken pad Thai, yellow chicken curry, Thai iced coffee, and Thai iced tea. Every single one was PERFECT. I eat Thai food pretty often and I’m usually picky and don’t expect each place to taste the same. But this place hit all the flavors right on the money. I also need gluten free so I was excited to see that the options I was considering were also labeled as gluten free. I will definitely be coming back for more! *We ate it all too fast to take pictures lol

I really loved the fact that the menu had plenty of vegan and gluten free options. I would recommend the black pepper tofu and broccoli. Cozy, lively atmosphere and our waitress was such a sweetheart. Would definitely eat here again.

Service was so friendly! There is a variety of options for vegans, gluten free, vegetarian, and people who can eat about anything. Everything was delicious from the Thai iced tea to the Crying Tiger and pad Thai. Monsoon Siam is located on the downtown mall in Charlottesville. Great spot to go for a work lunch, night with friends, or a date!

Delightful place and great food! Tofu balls were gluten free and the sauce was delicious. *Provided Tamari sauce which is a huge plus as I am extremely wheat intolerant.

Delicious! I ordered the bibimbap and they were able to make it gluten-free. Such a pleasant surprise to come across the place during our travels.
