Very lovely staff and service, I had the delight of a gluten-free, dairy-free, sausage roll. You would not have guessed given how crispy the pastry and juicy and flavoursome the sausage...
A delicious spot boasting an amazing menu that leaves everyone raving about the perfectly cooked fish and chips.

Pizzas were excellent, made to order and on time. The staff were incredibly accommodating in helping provide for an event I was running in town. My partner had the gluten free base and it was good as well. All in all a fantastic experience, will definitely be back.

On an overnight stay it was recommended by the motel and we were amazed at the high standard which was top restaurant quality. Nothing was too much trouble and for a coeliac they have a special version of the menu which lists what meals are gluten free or coeliac safe. The lamb bowl, coeliac safe, and the fish pie with the option of sweet potato chips were both really delicious.
We have now found out that they have an on line table reservation system and we were just lucky. With a full dining room the food service was really fast.

definitely the best Indian restaurant in East Gippsland. no GF mentioned on the menu, but the service staff know their menu inside-out. Full understanding & very accommodating for this local Coeliac.

I went in here and had Ya Bacon Me Crazy chicken burger with chips and a 375ml drink and I was astounded with the meal and how big it was, everything was so so tasty and gluten free too, which is a relief for someone who needs alternatives, truly honest review of this Cafe and takeaway place, giving an honest, open and unbiased assessment of the burger meal provided for $29 and it was worth every cent. Will happily recommend to family and friends who are in the Bairnsdale area needing a feed. Bravo 5ive Canary's Bairnsdale. The best takeaway food I think I've had on a weekend away for a long time if not ever. So great job 5ive Canary's.
Don't go advertising gluten free pizzas when all 3 of us (coeliac) last night got sick from your over priced "gluten free pizzas". Coeliacs beware. Don't buy. Honestly is the real policy.
Bairnsdale Bowling Club was a special surprise for us. The staff were just so lovely and knew so much about Gluten Free. The meals which the 3 of us shared were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection. When next in Bairnsdale we will definitely be back.

We didn't stay here, however we were fortunate enough to eat here!
On the advice of a local we were recommended to The Mitchell River Tavern for a tasty, inexpensive meal. Took along my 92 year old grandma, my dad, my 11 year old daughter and not yet 3 year old son.
It's a pub, so there isn't a kids play area, but the dining area was safe and not over-crowded.
$83 for 6 meals (5 mains and an entree) and 2 drinks each (we didn't have alcohol). All of us had a seafood, except bub. The meals were perfectly cooked and a really good serving size. Filling, but not wasteful. I couldn't rate my squid highly enough, even it's presentation was immaculate! I've been telling everyone who would listen how great it was. Kids demolished their meals, oldies loved theirs too.
Menus were clearly labeled with plenty of Gluten free options, and/or vegetarian or vegan options. The only thing I would've liked to see as a personal preference would be Dairy-free markings, although I believe a lot of the menu was actually Dairy-free.
Customer service was another top job. The guy who served us was very pleasant, accommodating and efficient too.
Great job guys, thank you. We'll be back next holiday!
We went there for lunch as they offer gluten-free option in the menu, I would say the taste was not bad. The gluten-free dish wil taste better if it could be cooked with gluten-free soy sauce.
Enjoy a cozy retreat surrounded by beautiful giftware and flowers, plus expertly crafted meals that make each visit a delight.

We love coming to New Leaf! It's so relaxing and decadent being able to sit amongst the giftware and flowers, whilst eating expertly crafted meals and delicious coffee, all made to order. Staff are super helpful and very accommodating (I'm not the easiest patron!!) and they have always made our visits a delight. Their care around gluten free options is a relief to many who find getting gf options difficult. Definitely worth turning off the highway to have a stop.
